Our Team

We aspire to add midwives, doulas, massage therapist, maternal mental health consultants, lactation consultants, yoga instructors, etc. to our team!

This Work Chose Me

My first birth was everything I didn’t want — bright lights, strangers, and feeling powerless. But the second birth, when my daughter made her grand entrance in the front seat of our car on the way to the birth center, something shifted inside me. I felt the raw power of a black woman, the same power our grandmothers and great-grandmothers carried in fields and cabins with nothing but prayer and each other.

That day, midwifery claimed me. I trained at Maternidad La Luz, as a apprentice, became CPR & NRP certified, completed doula training, and I never stop learning — completing CEUs every year and studying independently on Black maternal health disparities, holistic remedies, and the specific needs of our Louisiana communities.

My dream is to become a Grand Midwife right here in Baton Rouge — catching babies for generations to come, just like the grannies did before me.

Currently I am a Primary Student under supervision at Devotion Midwifery until I close out my certifying chapter with NARM.

All services will be scheduled with Devotion Midwifery.

My Oath

Every mama deserves to birth with dignity, power, and joy — surrounded by someone who sees her, hears her, and honors the strength running through her bloodline.

My care is rooted in ancestral wisdom, backed by modern training, and focused on closing the gaps that far too many of us have experienced in Louisiana hospitals.
